Description
Boiler Air-Path Fan Selection

G/Y4-73
Boiler Centrifugal Fan

G/Y4-73 is selected according to the fan position in the boiler air path. G4-73 works on the clean-air side to supply combustion air, while Y4-73 works on the flue-gas side to support induced draft after combustion.

The series is suitable for 2–670 t/h steam boiler systems. Configuration should be confirmed according to airflow, pressure, medium temperature, dust condition, corrosion risk and the site duct layout.

Carbon steel, 304 stainless steel and 316L stainless steel directions can be discussed according to temperature and corrosion requirements.

Read the Boiler Air Path Before Choosing the Fan

In a boiler room, the first selection step is to confirm where the fan works in the air path. A fan installed before combustion usually handles clean air. A fan installed after combustion must handle temperature, dust, flue-gas resistance and possible corrosion.

G4-73 and Y4-73 should therefore not be treated as the same working condition. Even when airflow and pressure appear similar, the medium condition may require different material, motor, bearing, casing and maintenance arrangements.

For flue-gas applications, a dust-removal device should be arranged before the fan. In common power-plant conditions, dust-removal efficiency is generally expected to be no less than 85%, helping reduce impeller wear and casing abrasion.
Boiler Air-Path Logic

Four Checks Before Model Confirmation

STEP 01
Locate the Fan Position

Confirm whether the fan works before combustion-air entry or after flue gas leaves the boiler.

STEP 02
Check the Medium

Clean air, hot smoke, dust concentration and corrosive components change the configuration direction.

STEP 03
Match System Resistance

Include boiler resistance, duct loss, dust-collector resistance, dampers and chimney conditions.

STEP 04
Confirm Material

Carbon steel, 304 stainless steel or 316L stainless steel should follow the actual duty.

Selection Point G4-73 Clean-Air Side Y4-73 Flue-Gas Side What to Confirm
Medium Clean air Smoke / flue gas Dust, temperature and corrosive components
Temperature ≤80°C ≤250°C Whether a high-temperature configuration is required
System Load Air-supply resistance Boiler, collector and flue resistance Actual pressure loss across the complete system
Material Usually simpler to configure May require corrosion-resistant material Carbon steel / 304 / 316L direction
