How an Industrial Axial Flow Fan Moves Air

An axial flow fan moves air approximately parallel to the fan shaft. Its straight-through airflow path and compact structure make it suitable for large air volume and relatively low-resistance ventilation. Long ducts, filters and other high-resistance systems should be reviewed separately before choosing between an axial fan and a centrifugal fan.

Choose an Axial Flow Fan by Working Condition

An axial flow fan should not be selected only by casing diameter. Begin with the required duty point and installation arrangement, then confirm whether the project needs a general tube axial fan, a process cooling fan or a specialist mine and tunnel ventilation fan.

Long Mine / Tunnel Ducts
Dedicated mine and tunnel fans should be reviewed where duct distance, pressure loss, leakage, reversibility and safety become critical.
Higher System Resistance
Filters, baghouses and long resistance-heavy duct systems may require a centrifugal fan instead of a general axial fan.

Axial Flow Fan Questions

What is an industrial axial flow fan mainly used for?
It is mainly used for large-volume ventilation where system resistance is relatively low, such as workshops, warehouses, wall openings, equipment rooms and selected duct systems.
When should I use a centrifugal fan instead?
Long ducts, filters, baghouses and other higher-resistance systems may require a centrifugal fan because the required static pressure can exceed the practical range of a general axial fan.
What is the difference between T35-11 and BT35-11?
T35-11 is the general industrial configuration. BT35-11 is a project-based explosion-proof configuration and requires the hazardous-area requirement, gas group, temperature class and applicable certificate to be confirmed.
Is the FB electric fan a long-distance duct ventilation fan?
No. The FB electric fan on this category page is intended for equipment cooling, fixed-position ventilation and local circulation. Duct-connected mine ventilation should use the dedicated FB/FBD mine fan direction.
Can GD30K2-12 handle corrosive or flammable gas?
Only after separate review. Gas composition, temperature, material, sealing, motor arrangement and electrical safety requirements must be confirmed before selection.
