Explosion-Proof Fans for Mine, Chemical & Hazardous Ventilation Systems

Hazardous Area · Gas / Dust Group · Temperature Class · Required Ex Marking

QIYUE FAN manufactures explosion-proof ventilation fan configurations for underground mine roadways, coal mine main ventilation, local duct ventilation, flammable-gas exhaust, hazardous chemical areas and selected combustible-dust systems.

Airflow and pressure determine the aerodynamic duty. Hazardous-area classification, gas or dust group, temperature class, required marking, motor, material, sealing, installation and destination-country compliance determine whether the complete fan configuration is suitable.

Do Not Select an Explosion-Proof Fan from Motor Power Alone

The motor is only one part of the complete configuration. The fan assembly, material, sealing, static-control measures, marking, documentation and installation conditions must match the actual hazardous area.

Choose Explosion-Proof Fans by Working Condition

First identify the ventilation role and hazardous environment. Then compare the fan family and confirm the required safety configuration.

Local Mine Ventilation
Press-In or Extractive Local Fans
For coal mine headings, underground roadways and duct ventilation. Confirm whether fresh air is supplied to the face or contaminated return air is extracted.
Mine Main Ventilation
Extractive Main Mine Fans
For continuous main ventilation networks requiring large airflow, stable pressure and project-based mine safety review.
Chemical Process Area
Flammable Gas & Vapor Exhaust
Gas chemistry, concentration, hazardous-area classification, corrosion, material and temperature must be reviewed together.
Combustible-Dust Area
Dust Collection & Process Exhaust
Confirm dust type, concentration, ignition risk, filter resistance, static-control requirements and equipment classification.

Choose the First Fan Direction by Ventilation Role

FB / FBD Press-In Local Ventilation
For fresh-air supply to roadways and working faces. Review duct length, leakage, pressure, methane condition and required mine safety configuration.
FBCD Extractive Local Ventilation
For return-air or contaminated-air extraction from local underground sections. Confirm hazardous medium and extractive duct resistance.
FBCZ / FBCDZ Main Mine Ventilation
For continuous mine-network duty. Review main airflow, resistance curve, long-term operation, installation, redundancy and site safety requirements.
BT35-11 General Hazardous Ventilation
For large-volume, low-resistance industrial ventilation after the required hazardous-area classification and complete configuration are confirmed.
Chemical Flammable-Gas Exhaust
Select aerodynamic family and material only after gas composition, concentration, corrosion, temperature and hazardous-area data are reviewed.
Combustible-Dust Exhaust
Review dust type, concentration, ignition characteristics, fan position, filter resistance, grounding and static-control requirements.

08 · Frequently Asked Questions

Explosion-Proof Fan Selection FAQ

Is an explosion-proof motor enough for a hazardous ventilation fan?
No. The complete fan configuration must be reviewed, including fan material, sealing, static control, electrical accessories, installation, required marking and project compliance.
What information is needed before selecting an explosion-proof fan?
Provide the hazardous-area classification, gas or dust group, temperature class, required marking, airflow, pressure, medium, temperature, voltage, installation and destination country.
What is the difference between FBD and FBCD?
FBD is primarily reviewed for press-in local air supply through underground ducting. FBCD is reviewed for extractive local ventilation where return air is pulled from the working section.
When should FBCZ or FBCDZ be considered?
They are main mine ventilation directions. FBCDZ is a counter-rotating option generally reviewed for larger airflow, higher resistance or stronger pressure requirements.
Can an explosion-proof fan also be corrosion resistant?
Potentially, but the hazardous-area requirement and corrosion-material requirement must be reviewed together. One designation does not automatically satisfy the other.
Can the same explosion-proof configuration be used in every country?
No. Required schemes, markings and documentation differ by destination market and project. The required compliance scope must be confirmed before quotation.
