Compared with FBCD contra-rotating fans, FBC is suited to lower and medium pressure exhaust duties where a single-stage fan can satisfy the required airflow and system resistance.

FBC is used where contaminated mine air needs to be extracted from a localized underground area rather than fresh air being pushed toward the face.
The fan is normally connected to negative-pressure ventilation ducting so air, dust and gas-bearing mine atmosphere can be drawn away from the working area and discharged into the designated return-air system.

Replacing an Existing FBC Fan
Many mine ventilation enquiries are replacement projects where the original design airflow and pressure are unavailable. Existing fan information can still provide a useful engineering starting point.

FBC identifies an extractive axial local ventilation fan. The letter C denotes the extractive configuration, while contra-rotating models add D and are identified as FBCD.
What is the difference between FBC and FBCD?
