9-28 I High-Pressure Fan for Forced Draft and Process Air
The 9-28 I series is a purpose-built high-pressure centrifugal fan family for forging furnaces, industrial kilns, forced-draft air supply and other ducted systems where ordinary ventilation fans cannot provide enough pressure to overcome system resistance.
According to the supplied original technical documentation, the conveyed medium should not exceed 80°C. Dust and hard fine particles should not exceed 150 mg/m³. Published performance data are referenced to air at 20°C, density 1.2 kg/m³ and atmospheric pressure 101325 Pa.
For complete combustion-air and process-air system planning, see Industrial Forced Draft Fan System & Selection .
Pressure-First Duty
Designed for systems where duct, furnace, nozzle or equipment resistance drives fan selection.
Wide Size Range
The supplied manual spans small A-type units through large D- and F-type configurations.
High Efficiency
Published internal efficiency reaches approximately 82.6% around the best-efficiency region.
Project-Based Motor Matching
Motor power, voltage, frequency and final fan speed are confirmed from the actual operating point.
9-28 I and W9-28 Are Different Fan Series
Although the model numbers look similar, the two series solve different engineering problems. 9-28 I is selected primarily for high-pressure airflow, while W9-28 is a dedicated high-temperature centrifugal fan direction.
High-Pressure Centrifugal Fan
Medium temperature: ≤80°C
Main duty: forced draft / process air
Arrangements: A / D / F
Selection driver: airflow + system resistance
High-Temperature Centrifugal Fan
Elevated-temperature construction
Main duty: furnace / kiln hot-gas systems
Different thermal design requirements
Selection driver: temperature + operating point
9-28 I A, D and F Drive Arrangements
The 9-28 I series is not one mechanical structure enlarged through every size. The supplied documentation shows A-, D- and F-type layouts, each with different shaft, bearing, motor and foundation arrangements.
For a detailed explanation of industrial centrifugal-fan transmission layouts, see Centrifugal Fan Drive Arrangements: A, B, C, D, E and F Types .
Small A-Type Range
Supplied performance pages confirm No.4A, 4.5A, 5A, 5.6A and 6.3A configurations at 2900 r/min.
Medium & Large D-Type Range
Supplied data confirm No.7.1D through No.17D with multiple published speeds including 2900, 1450 and 960 r/min.
Large F-Type Range
The supplied performance pages include No.22F, 23F and 24F configurations, with lower-speed options for large-volume duty.
9-28 I Performance Range
The ranges below are summarized directly from the supplied original performance tables. Each final fan must still be selected from the actual airflow-pressure operating point rather than from the series range alone.
How to Select a 9-28 I High-Pressure Fan
Do not select a 9-28 I fan from model number, maximum airflow or motor power alone. Airflow and pressure must be checked at the same operating point, followed by speed, absorbed power, medium condition and mechanical configuration.
If the project specification provides a pressure value, first confirm whether it is static pressure or total pressure. See Static Pressure vs Total Pressure in Industrial Fans .
Buyers who need help reading the operating data can also review How to Read a Fan Performance Curve .
Airflow
Required operating airflow in m³/h or CFM.
Pressure
Confirm total or static pressure and complete system resistance.
Medium
Temperature, gas composition and dust concentration.
Speed
Fan RPM must match the selected performance data.
Arrangement
Confirm A, D or F type, rotation, outlet and foundation.

This representative D-type drawing shows the main fan casing, shaft and bearing arrangement, motor position, inlet and outlet dimensions, foundation references and common discharge orientations.

High-Pressure Forced Draft and Process Air Applications
Furnace Forced Draft
High-pressure combustion or process-air delivery to forging furnaces and industrial thermal equipment.
Kiln Process Air
Air supply where kiln equipment and connected ductwork create substantial system resistance.
Industrial Combustion Air
Pressure-oriented airflow for burners, nozzles and combustion-air distribution systems.
Process Air Delivery
Industrial equipment requiring higher pressure than general-purpose ventilation fans normally provide.
High-Resistance Duct Systems
Long ducts, multiple fittings, dampers or connected process equipment where total resistance must be overcome.
Engineering Checks Before Confirming the 9-28 I
Pressure Basis
Static pressure and total pressure must not be mixed during fan selection.
Medium Temperature
Standard supplied documentation limits the conveyed medium to 80°C. Higher-temperature duties require another fan direction.
Dust Condition
Original documentation limits dust and hard fine particles to 150 mg/m³. Abrasive or heavy dust requires separate review.
Motor & Frequency
QIYUE FAN can review motor voltage, frequency, poles and power according to the actual destination and selected operating point.
Rotation & Outlet
Confirm viewing direction, rotation and discharge angle against the actual duct layout before production.
Existing Fan Replacement
For replacements, send the old fan nameplate, photos, dimensions, motor data, foundation and actual duty point.
Send the Operating Point, Not Just a Fan Model
A reliable 9-28 I quotation starts from the actual system duty. Sending only "9-28" or only motor power is not enough to verify whether the selected size and speed will match the connected system.
Airflow, m³/h
Static or total pressure, Pa
Required operating margin
Continuous operating hours
Gas temperature
Gas composition
Dust concentration
Site altitude
Voltage and frequency
Rotation / outlet angle
Inlet / outlet interfaces
