9-28 I High-Pressure Fan for Forced Draft and Process Air

The 9-28 I series is a purpose-built high-pressure centrifugal fan family for forging furnaces, industrial kilns, forced-draft air supply and other ducted systems where ordinary ventilation fans cannot provide enough pressure to overcome system resistance.

According to the supplied original technical documentation, the conveyed medium should not exceed 80°C. Dust and hard fine particles should not exceed 150 mg/m³. Published performance data are referenced to air at 20°C, density 1.2 kg/m³ and atmospheric pressure 101325 Pa.

For complete combustion-air and process-air system planning, see Industrial Forced Draft Fan System & Selection .

Pressure-First Duty

Designed for systems where duct, furnace, nozzle or equipment resistance drives fan selection.

Wide Size Range

The supplied manual spans small A-type units through large D- and F-type configurations.

High Efficiency

Published internal efficiency reaches approximately 82.6% around the best-efficiency region.

Project-Based Motor Matching

Motor power, voltage, frequency and final fan speed are confirmed from the actual operating point.

Model Clarification

9-28 I and W9-28 Are Different Fan Series

Although the model numbers look similar, the two series solve different engineering problems. 9-28 I is selected primarily for high-pressure airflow, while W9-28 is a dedicated high-temperature centrifugal fan direction.

Selection Logic

How to Select a 9-28 I High-Pressure Fan

Do not select a 9-28 I fan from model number, maximum airflow or motor power alone. Airflow and pressure must be checked at the same operating point, followed by speed, absorbed power, medium condition and mechanical configuration.

If the project specification provides a pressure value, first confirm whether it is static pressure or total pressure. See Static Pressure vs Total Pressure in Industrial Fans .

Buyers who need help reading the operating data can also review How to Read a Fan Performance Curve .

STEP 01

Airflow

Required operating airflow in m³/h or CFM.

STEP 02

Pressure

Confirm total or static pressure and complete system resistance.

STEP 03

Medium

Temperature, gas composition and dust concentration.

STEP 04

Speed

Fan RPM must match the selected performance data.

STEP 05

Arrangement

Confirm A, D or F type, rotation, outlet and foundation.

Published 9-28 I data include speeds such as 2900, 1450, 960, 730 and 560 r/min. For overseas power supplies, do not copy a 50Hz catalogue speed directly into a 60Hz project without checking the curve and motor load. See Motor Poles, RPM and 50Hz/60Hz Fan Speed .

Application Direction

High-Pressure Forced Draft and Process Air Applications

Furnace Forced Draft

High-pressure combustion or process-air delivery to forging furnaces and industrial thermal equipment.

Kiln Process Air

Air supply where kiln equipment and connected ductwork create substantial system resistance.

Industrial Combustion Air

Pressure-oriented airflow for burners, nozzles and combustion-air distribution systems.

Process Air Delivery

Industrial equipment requiring higher pressure than general-purpose ventilation fans normally provide.

High-Resistance Duct Systems

Long ducts, multiple fittings, dampers or connected process equipment where total resistance must be overcome.

Engineering Review

Engineering Checks Before Confirming the 9-28 I

01

Pressure Basis

Static pressure and total pressure must not be mixed during fan selection.

02

Medium Temperature

Standard supplied documentation limits the conveyed medium to 80°C. Higher-temperature duties require another fan direction.

03

Dust Condition

Original documentation limits dust and hard fine particles to 150 mg/m³. Abrasive or heavy dust requires separate review.

04

Motor & Frequency

QIYUE FAN can review motor voltage, frequency, poles and power according to the actual destination and selected operating point.

05

Rotation & Outlet

Confirm viewing direction, rotation and discharge angle against the actual duct layout before production.

06

Existing Fan Replacement

For replacements, send the old fan nameplate, photos, dimensions, motor data, foundation and actual duty point.

RFQ Preparation

Send the Operating Point, Not Just a Fan Model

A reliable 9-28 I quotation starts from the actual system duty. Sending only "9-28" or only motor power is not enough to verify whether the selected size and speed will match the connected system.
